1920s KOH-I-NOOR VIOLA 6cm Waved Hair Pins Made in Czechoslovakia

£2.50
Made in Czechoslovakia in the 1920s  these KOH-I-NOOR "VIOLA" Hair Grips are on a very attractive  display packet.
The KOH-I-NOOR WALDES company mainly manufactured fastenings like press-studs - this was obviously a sideline !
The Waldes KOH-I-NOOR trademark picture seen on the left hand side of the packet - Miss KIN, came about in 1912 when Waldes, on his ocean trip to New York,
met Elisabeth Coyens who playfully put one press-stud in her eye.
František Kupka painted her portrait in oils and from that Vojtěch Preissig designed the firm’s trademark- seen in the 2nd photo.
The packet is just under 9cm square and the pins are 6cm long.
